The Portuguese fashion sector is recognized for its ability to innovate and for the confidence that its heritage of know-how inspires in the international market. Composed of eight sectors, including clothing, footwear, leather goods, and jewelry, it brings together a total of 14,877 companies, mostly family-owned SMEs, employing over 164,000 workers.
In 2021, the fashion sector generated a turnover of over 9.6 billion euros, representing 9.4 percent of the total Portuguese manufacturing industry.
